Another Year and 3 months later

And now... a restart.... again.


In the last year and 3 months we've...


Continued with eliminating "bad food"

Read a ton of books, reports and documentaries on nutrition

Learned how to cook healthy food so that it is tasty

Turned VEGAN

Yes, that's correct

We are officially VEGAN.

We eat....

NO SOY
NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP
NO DAIRY
NO MEATS OF ANY KIND
NO EGGS
NO PROCESSED SUGARED TREATS
NO RED DYE
NO FROZEN MEALS
and
LESS GRAINS

Of course, we only turned vegan August 1st...  23 days ago.

LOL

I just read back through my older posts and couldn't help but laugh at the one where I'm marveling at eating spinach leaves! Spinach is a staple in this house now. After much research and after doing an elimination diet and realizing that we have a lot of issues with dairy, we decided we'd try out vegan for a month. Within 10 days John was in the kitchen making delicious meals, we outfitted our kitchen with staples and we decided to permanently stay vegan because the benefits were obvious and immediate... especially when my gall bladder attacks stopped.

Is it hard?

No, not at all really.

We pack lunches, we order vegetables at restaurants or bring our own. I find myself saying "we're vegan" without a thought. At most, the smell of other food sometimes draws me in but then I just think about the stomach pain I'd have and I'm good.

Plus, its a "popular" lifestyle right now so its much easier to live this way. 

Are you sure you're staying vegan if its only been 23 days?

Yes

Except we're discussing possibly adding local eggs back into our diet.

and we're going Gluten free

and our next experiment is to eliminate WHEAT for a month to see if we see a difference.

Of course, that one is a little harder for us as many no-soy vegan dishes contain it.

It might take us awhile.

A whole baby later...

It's been 9 months since I've posted... (a whole I made a fully formed baby inside me timeline)

Where am I?

In February I started getting up at 7am and running with my brother.

In March I started going with a friend to Planet Fitness. We've been enjoying our FIVE HOUR sessions. We workout, watch Downton, talk and work out more.

Usually we leave at 2 am

Yes, we're crazy.

2 weeks ago I ran my first 5 k with my girls...



Okay... I ran and walked but still I finished it in less than an hour which was my goal.

:-)

All this, I've lost nothing.

LOL

I currently weigh 197

But I can run.

I skipped the working out all Summer.

Amazing how I find the time to do others things... even whole days to do things... other things.

I've also quit the trainer I was using and am currently in an argument about getting a refund. 

Frankly, its making me sick. I hate arguments. I hate people thinking bad thoughts about me.

I know I look bad.

Although I'm right. 

Anyway. 

Here I am in September. 

6 months until 35

So much for enjoying the second half of my thirties.

I weigh  197  lbs.

DDD

Disappointed. Discouraged Disgusted

I went and I'm not feeling overly positive. First of all.... instead of nearly passing out I actually felt as if I could go longer. But I couldn't tell that to Sean of course because he hightailed it out of there long before I was gone. (He put me on the elliptical for 16  mins.) I ended up going for over 20 minutes because I was waiting for him to come back and check on me... and .. really I LIKE the elliptical. They put music on with fierce beats and I got really into. But I digress.

So... I've plopped down a ton of money and so far...

I haven't been assessed... no weighing.. no measurements.. so how does Sean know if what we're doing is working?

We also only worked out for MAYBE 20 mins... what happened to 60 min work out sessions?

I think I need to have a discussion with him.

About to go....

So apparently I'm to go to the gym early to use the treadmill or whatever to "warm up."

I'm super curious if I'll come close to passing out again. I suppose so.

Honestly? I really have no interest in going. I want to put Aivry down for a nap and read for a few hours... its Spring Break. I want a break. and I'm tired.

A little voice keeps saying " who are you kidding? You're a fatty. You've been fat your entire adult life. Sit down and be who you are."

I typed up my eating habits for the week. I didn't fudge... thought about it but hey whatever.

Less than an hour to go.
